Bad Friday

Today I will be sharing my blog post with you, it is about Bad Friday. Hope you enjoy.

Bad Friday

Once upon a warm burning day lived a little small silent calm girl named Molly. Molly and her family were very poor, they only had about $100. Molly had a family of 2, Molly’s father died in a car crash, so Molly and only her Mum ( Stacey ) lived together. Molly’s father died in a car crash in 2009 6 months before she was born, Molly was 7 years old and her birthday was on October the 13th ( Bad Friday ), but Molly didn’t believe that bad Friday was true. They lived in a rusty undersized house which had holes in the ceiling, rats scuttled across the floor, no light just darkness, spider webs hanging from the ceiling and closets that creaked when you opened them. Molly loved ice cream, The flavours that she adored was mint chocolate, birthday cake swirl, m and m chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate fudge sundae.

On Molly’s birthday, Stacey wanted to surprise her. She thought of going to the best ice cream shop in the country / town ( she lives in New Zealand, Hastings ) which was Mr Mysterious ’s Ice cream shop. The Mother and Daughter lived quite near to Mr Mysterious ‘s Ice cream shop so she told her that they were going to get her favourite Ice cream. They marched to Mr Mysterious ‘s Ice cream shop. She thought of buying her number one favourite Ice cream which was M AND M CHOCOLATE CHIP ICE CREAM she just absolutely loved that ice cream. Stacey brought a classic chocolate chip ice cream. Here was the special ice cream of the day: M and M chocolate chip ice cream ONLY 10 cents, She was so glad that her ice cream was on sale, so she brought her M and M chocolate ice cream and Stacey brought her classic chocolate chip ice cream.

Stacey had a teeny tiny bite and Molly had a gigantic bite of the ice cream and as soon as it got in her mouth she felt so dizzy that she spewed up and she could not stop, she vomited and vomited but still didn’t stop whereas Stacey had larger and larger and larger bites of the ice cream but still didn't feel anything.

Shape Art

For art we had 4 options and we could only pick 1, the first option was hundertwasser art, second option was stone art, third option was Digi owl art and fourth option was shape art, I chose shape art. For shape art we had to chose a  shape and I chose a star and then we had to do hundreds of stars big, small and medium size stars and down below is my finished product and overall I am very happy how it turned out and I think I did a great job.

Disadvantages of pocket money.

Today I have been learning about how to write an argument, my topic is about the disadvantages of pocket money. Down below Is my argument, I hope you learn why children shouldn't have pocket money.

Firstly, I firmly believe that adults should truly consider not giving pocket money to their children. I have 3 main reasons why kids should not have pocket money and I hope parents learn a lot of interesting facts about the disadvantages of pocket money.

Without a doubt, I think if you give your children pocket money they will be too busy spending money and will not take care of their money. I strongly believe if an adult doesn’t supervise their child with spending money then kids will spend money on things that they don’t need, inappropriate things and lastly frivolous junk. For example, they will constantly spend money and after that they might become flat out selfish.

In this situation, they will become spoilt and will ask for more and more money on things that are foolish. Kids will not understand the worth and value of one dollar. Secondly, they will think that money grows on trees and last but not least they will not respect their family and they will spend money immediately without a second thought. Undoubtedly, you are a part of a family and everyone does jobs that need to be done such as making your bed, washing the dishes, cleaning the dining table, doing the lawn, folding the laundry, vacuuming the house and much more.

Another important reason is that kids do not make the right decisions and will get into trouble for how they spend money. For example - the consequences will turn out bad in a situation and they will not own up to their mistake or will not rectify their mistake ( example, bringing money to school ). Most parents make money and they work as hard as they can to earn money, overall they have to pay bills like the grocery's, electricians, water  and loads more and if your kid gets pocket money and spend it on careless things it wouldn’t be very helpful.

Lastly, make sure to keep these 3 important points in mind before you give money to your kids. Teach children to have a correct attitude towards wealth and lastly teach them how to spend money smartly, wisely and responsibly. I believe and I hope you believe now that kids shouldn't have pocket money. Please consider not giving pocket money to your kids.

Guess who?

GUESS WHO!!!

I am a year 5 girl in kauri 89. My hair is as black as a thundercloud and is always in plates. At the bottom of my hair I have curls as wavy as a flowers petals and I always wear a black hair tie that no one can see. My eyes are as brown as wood. I have my ears pierced but I don’t wear earrings. My height I would say is about medium size for my age, I would say I am as tall as 8 - 10 chairs stacked up, when I am walking inside the classroom I don’t knock over pieces of artwork or paper hanging down from the ceiling.

I really enjoy sports and my favourite sport is netball I play for Parkvale school but not any more because our session has finished. I also like to shop and my favourite shop is farmers because I like the clothes they have there. I love learning and my favourite subject is Maths then Art. I like Maths because I learn new things everyday and it challenges me. I also like art because I like to draw and color but mostly coloring because I am better at it than drawing. I also like going outside for some fresh air and going on the tramp, so in the holidays you might find me bouncing on the tramp. I also love cooking especially with my mum and baking chocolate brownies. I also like watching movies and one of my best one is the BFG.

I am usually a happy person but not funny I try to look at the bright side of many things possible. My favourite color is blue and purple because I like the shades of the colors. I am kind and caring and try to make people feel good. I feel good when I make other people feel good. I am not that shy but I am when I see someone I don't know. I have a brother and he can be annoying sometimes but most of the time he is in his room studying.

Koru art

For art we did koru art and we had to represent our family on our artwork. On my artwork the purple one is my mum the red and orange one is my dad the green one is my brother and last of all the blue one is me. When I was doing my art I used the absorption and managing distractions learning muscle because I was absorbed with my work and I never wanted to stop because it was really fun and I was managing my distractions and not talking to my friends. I am really proud of my artwork because it took a lot of time in pastelling because we had to do our korus in pastel and our background in vivid. I am also glad with the patterns that I used because they stand out. Another reason why I am really glad with my artwork is that it turned out exactly how I wanted it to look like. If I could start my artwork again I would change nothing because I am really pleased with it. Why I am pleased of my artwork is because I took my time and I used the right colors for my family and the background looks really cool, because I used black and white and I used 3 different patterns.
